
Algeria-born forward Baghdad Bounedjah scored a hat-trick as Etoile du Sahel beat Stade Gabesien 4-3 to win the 2014/2015 ‘Coupe de Tunisie’ (Tunisian Cup) on Saturday, 29 August 2015 at the Olympic Stadium in Rades.
Bounedjah scored the winner on 74 minutes as Etoile came from behind to seal their third title in five years of the annual competition. The feat caps a successful season for ‘Les Diables Rouges’ who have reached the semis of the 2015 Orange CAF Confederation Cup.
Guinea-import Alkhaly Bangoura reduced the deficit for Etoile on 38 minutes and Bounedjah drew parity two minutes before the break.
On the hour-mark, Saad Bguir restored Stade Gabesien’s lead and Bounedjah made it three-all seven minutes later before scoring the match winner on 74 minutes.
Tunisia President Mohamed Beji Caid Essebsi presented the trophy to the captain of the Sousse-based club, Aymen Mathlouti amidst cheers from his colleagues.
