South Africa’s Nations Cup-winning national coach, Clive Barker has confirmed the possibility of returning to the Absa Premiership as head coach of Maritzburg United.
Barker is currently engaged with Mpumalanga Black Aces as a scout, having previously been head coach, but Maritzburg see him as a replacement for Mandla Ncikazi, who was fired last week.
Speaking in an interview with KickOff.com, Barker confirmed that he is talking to a “few PSL teams”, including Maritzburg, with the intention of returning to top-flight football this season. “I am talking to a few teams, that is the only thing can say for now,” Barker says.
In the interim, Maritzburg have installed Fadlu Davids as stand-in coach.
