The Assistant Captain of the Ghana National Football Team, Black Stars was voted Best Footballer of the Year 2015 and the Sports Personality of the Year 2015 for his wonderful exploits in the year under review.
The elated Ayew said he was very happy for the recognition of his achievements by the inky fraternity and hoped to gain strength to do better and more for himself and Ghana.
His revealed that leading the Ghana Youth squad in 2009 to win the World Youth Cup for Africa for the first time was his most memorable feat, as well as featuring for French Top Club, Marseille to grab two League titles are events he cannot forget.
However, he always wants to forget when Ghana Black Stars lost at the finals of the 2010 and 2015 African Nations Cups. “We were so close, but we lost. We pray for more strength from the Almighty Allah and by His Mercies and Grace, Ghana will go and win the African Cup, nest time round” he assured.
Andre Ayew appealed to Ghanaian Football lovers to pray and support the Black Stars as they have the quality to win the African Cup for the fifth time which has eluded the Ghana Football Association since Libya 1982. He compared the crowds at recent local league games and the attendance to Black Stars matches which to him was not encouraging. “We want the Ghana fans to cheer us up with the Jama Songs, and we will be inspired to play or hearts out to ensure victory in Gabon 2017.

Observing his humility and hunger for success as well as his current form and maturity, he looks like very capable of retaining the Footballer of the Year title this season (2016).
