Lausanne, Switzerland, December 5, 2015 – Captain Brackcides Agala and her deputy, setter Janet Wanja, have missed selection from the provisional Kenya squad, which has been named ahead of the February 2016 Olympic Qualifiers in Cameroon.
KAWOWO Sports reported that the team’s new coach, Japheth Munala, said he had opted to select some players who have impressed recently and that the move was part of a natural generational change.
Agala and Wanja helped guide Kenya to their ninth African title earlier this year. They also helped the side gain promotion from Group 3 of the FIVB World Grand Prix to Group 2 as champions.
Kenya also finished 10th at the FIVB World Cup in September.
